Nuance Communications has signed an agreement with TCL to deploy Swype Platform as the default touchscreen keyboard in the U.S. on Android devices.
Swype is a four-in-one keyboard that lets people glide their fingers from one letter to the next to input text or tap, speak, or handwrite letters, numbers, and symbols. Swype continuously updates users' personal language models with the words and phrases they use the most. With opt-in connected services, users can also get the words and phrases trending around the world through the power of crowdsourcing. And, Swype can follow a user from one device to another with Backup and Sync
"Nuance has the key attributes we look for in a strategic partner: a record of high product quality, global language coverage, a history of innovation, and strong intellectual property in its category," said Steve Cistulli, senior vice president of North America for ALCATEL ONE TOUCH, a brand within TCL Communication, in a statement. "We look forward to expanding our partnership with Nuance as we build more powerful and elegant consumer experiences."
