Anderson Hospital Implements M*Modal Fluency Direct
Clinical documentation and speech understanding solution provider M*Modal announced that Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Hospital has chosen M*Modal Fluency Direct for use in its hospital and physician offices for speech enablement of two new, separate electronic health record implementations.
Anderson Hospital chose M*Modal Fluency Direct based on its previous success with M*Modal's transcription services, which include prelearned voice profiles of Anderson's physicians already existing in M*Modal's cloud service, as well as the system's flexibility and compatibility with multiple EHR systems. M*Modal's speech understanding solution displaces Anderson Hospital's legacy speech software.
"Moving over to electronic health records is a laborious task, and can take precious time away from our physicians' daily routine as they get trained on the new system," said Michelle Malawy, director of HIM and Performance Improvement at Anderson Hospital, in a statement. "With M*Modal, we were able to offer our physicians a usable, flexible speech solution to alleviate any stress about transitioning to EHRs and get them ramped up quickly. Many of our physicians have been directly quoted as saying they love the speech recognition piece of the electronic health record, helping us more easily achieve our goal with the rollout of the new EHR."
Launched in May, M*Modal Fluency is a family of cloud-based clinical solutions for dictation capture, speech recognition editing, and document distribution to optimize clinical information workflow, speed up the revenue cycle, help achieve HIPAA and regulatory compliance, as well as help meet meaningful use and electronic health record requirements.
