Verizon, Klausner Settle Visual Voicemail Dispute

U.S. wireless service provider Verizon Communications  has entered into a patent license agreement with Klausner Technologies for its Verizon Wireless’s Visual Voicemail service. This ends their patent litigation.

The Visual Voicemail patent license also covers the new Motorola "Krave" cell phone, unveiled on the Verizon network, which  includes the Visual Voicemail feature.

Verizon is the 15th company to date to license the Klausner Visual Voicemail patents. Current licensees include major U.S. wireless service providers, handset manufacturers, and cable operators. Verizon was a defendant in the pending patent infringement lawsuit brought by Klausner in the Eastern District of Texas. Remaining defendants in the pending litigation include Google, LG Electronics, Comverse, Citrix, Cox Communications, and Embarq.
