Philips Adds Languages to Healthcare Application
Royal Philips Electronics last week added English for the Canadian market and Slovenian to the portfolio of recognition languages available for its SpeechMagic healthcare dictation application.
In addition to Canadian French, Philips now provides a dedicated MultiMed ConText for Canadian English to better reflect the local language characteristics and documentation requirements. Philips and SpeechMagic now support all languages used for clinical reporting in North and South America, showing its dedications to these large markets.
Philips is also expanding its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and is the only company to provide speech recognition support in this region for the healthcare market.
"Philips was first to take healthcare speech recognition to Hungary and is first again to move into Slovenia. We thus bear testimony to the region’s increasing activities in upgrading their healthcare IT systems," said Marcel Wassink, CEO for Philips Speech Recognition Systems. "The SpeechMagic integration partners can continue growing their business into new areas, assured that Philips is there to deliver advanced technology for efficient and accurate medical reporting."
More than 250 providers of medical reporting solutions and healthcare IT applications seamlessly integrate SpeechMagic within their products, to ensure industrial grade speech-to-text conversion and enable verbal interaction with their systems.
