Call Genie Releases EVD 5.1 in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia
CALGARY and ALBERTA - Call Genie Inc. (TSX VENTURE:GNE) released the latest version of it's Enhanced Voice Directory (EVD) software, which provides voice-enabled access to Yellow Pages listings by category and location. The Yellow Pages Group's HelloYellow service is now using this advanced platform.
EVD(TM) 5.1's primary feature is the inclusion of requisite data for cities in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. HelloYellow is currently "live" from Ottawa to Victoria and in every major market in between with a population of 50,000 or greater.
Powered by speech recognition and text-to-speech technology from Nuance Communications (NASDAQ:NUAN), EVD 5.1 offers callers a speech-enabled experience with recognition of listing databases. The solution offers category search functionality and business category matching techniques for locality searching. Additional features to EVD 5.1 include a number of category and grammar improvements that will enhance the caller experience, as well as the introduction of SLR, Smart Location Refinement, which builds intelligence into the application so that additional search refinement will only be asked if relevant or would make a difference in the search.
It is the company's expectation that the HelloYellow service will eventually connect ready-to-spend consumers with merchants across Canada in both English and French.
