Eicon Networks Releases Diva Server SIPcontrol Product Support for Vocalocity Voice Browser
Eicon Networks is delivering Telephony Interface SIP Control drivers for the Vocalocity Voice Browser. Using a "SIP wrapper," Diva Server SIPcontrol, as a software adaptation layer allows Diva Server telephony boards to be used with the Vocalocity VoiceXML Voice Browser.
Diva Server SIPcontrol provides a SIP-based approach for interfacing with the Vocalocity platform. It behaves as a SIP User Agent and converts the call control information of the Diva Server telephony board into SIP messages. Voice channels are converted into IP packets and streamed via the RTP protocol into the Vocalocity platform or to another SIP endpoint. Eicon's Diva Server telephony boards, in combination with Diva Server SIPcontrol, act as an IP/PSTN Gateway and provide an approach that is compliant with the Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) and SIP architecture.
Eicon's Diva Server delivers a hardware platform for the integration of multiple communications applications, including Voice over IP (VoIP), unified messaging, computer telephony, remote access and fax. Diva Server adapters offer connectivity via Analog, ISDN Basic Rate (BRI) and Primary Rate (PRI), and E1/T1 (single, dual, quad) type of interfaces. The Diva Server has on board Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).
Vocalocity's VoiceXML Voice Browser manages telephony, automatic speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF), third party or custom services, media, and other needed resources. The Voice Browser includes the Vocalocity VoiceXML Interpreter with speech and telephony integrations.
