NMS Communications Adds Echo Cancellation and Studio Sound Products to Texas Instruments' Third Party Program

FRAMINGHAM, MA - NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a supplier of technology for networks, is now offering its echo cancellation DSP (digital signal processor) software and Studio Sound software as standalone products, and has added these offerings to Texas Instruments' (TI) third-party program. This opens up access to the market's voice enhancement technologies enabling network equipment providers to harness NMS' innovations for voice quality enhancement, speech processing, and voice compression within their switches and gateways. NMS first joined TI's third-party program in April of 2002 with the introduction of the e256 ASIC echo cancellation device. The e256 is a great companion to TI's versatile TMS320C5000 and TMS320C6000 DSPs, which are ideal for powering functions such as vocoding and speech processing. NMS' addition of its echo cancellation software and Studio Sound as standalone products within the program highlights the compatibility of these offerings with TI's C5000 and C6000 DSPs. Network equipment providers can pair NMS' voice quality enhancement technologies with the TI DSPs, allowing them to implement a variety of systems.
