Nuance Names Rod Hamlin Senior Vice President of Sales
MENLO PARK, CA - Nuance (Nasdaq:NUAN) announced the appointment of Rod Hamlin to the position of senior vice president of sales. Hamlin will be responsible for managing the company's worldwide sales and professional services organizations. "Rod has significant experience in driving mission critical software sales in both the enterprise and telecommunications markets. With his addition to our management team, we gain a wealth of proven leadership and skills that will be a tremendous asset to Nuance," said Ron Croen, president, chief executive officer and chairman, Nuance. "He has a proven track record in customer relationship management software sales and broad international experience." Hamlin joins Nuance from ViAir, a wireless web applications infrastructure company based in Seattle, Wash. At ViAir, he held the position of executive vice president of sales, and was responsible for driving strategic alliances with wireless carriers, ISPs and ASPs both nationally and internationally. Previously, Hamlin was vice president of business development and international operations at FreeI Networks, an Internet service provider that was acquired by NetZero. Prior to FreeI, Hamlin held the position of vice president of worldwide channel sales at Onyx Software, a global supplier of customer relationship management (CRM) enterprise applications. Hamlin also drove the sales efforts internationally and helped establish Onyx's operations in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Before Onyx, Hamlin was director of business development and international sales for FileNET, provider of Web content management solutions. Hamlin began his career at IBM in 1988.
