The W3C Announces Revised Pronunciation Lexicon Requirements Document
The W3C Voice Browser Working Group announces a revised Pronunciation Lexicon Requirements document which has been upgraded to align with VoiceXML and other languages in the W3C Speech Application Framework (available at http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-lexicon-reqs-20041029/). The Pronunciation Lexicon Specification (PLS) will be used to describe the pronunciation of words for both speech recognition and speech synthesis systems.
