Voxeo Acquires Vocomo Customer Base and VoiceXML IVR Platform Technology
ORLANDO, FL - Voxeo Corporation acquired the customers, support contracts, and VoiceXML platform products of Vocomo Software Corporation. Voxeo will support existing Vocomo customers, provide Vocomo platform bug fixes and enhancements, and sell new customer licenses for the Vocomo platform. Voxeo has also hired Vocomo's support staff for the support transition.
The acquisition adds over 100 new Vocomo enterprise accounts to Voxeo's IVR customer portfolio. In addition, Vocomo technology will be incorporated into Voxeo's VoiceCenter 7.0 IVR platform release, due in 2006. Vocomo customers with active support agreements will receive a free software upgrade to the combined platform.
Nancy Jamison, principal analyst at Jamison Consulting adds, "This looks like another strong move for Voxeo in the premise-based IVR platform market. 2005 has been an exciting year for Voxeo in the premise space, possibly due to pent-up demand for a premise-based version of Voxeo's VoiceCenter Hosted IVR platform. With the addition of the VocomoVoice technology and customers, Voxeo expands both its offering and its enterprise base."
Vocomo's standards-based IVR platform bundles a VoiceXML 2.0 interpreter, multi-vendor speech recognition and text-to-speech capabilities, a Web management console, an IVR application debugger, and Windows and Linux OS support into a package for enterprise IVR customers. These features will all be retained in the merged VoiceCenter 7.0 product.
