Acoustic Technologies Extends Availability of SoundClear Full-Duplex Speakerphone Software to StarCore Processor Cores
MESA , Ariz. - Acoustic Technologies announced the availability of SoundClear* ATS5500 software for the StarCore(tm) SC1000 family of processor cores.
The ATS5500 SoundClear speakerphone software integrates echo cancellation, sound enhancement, and noise cancellation to enable natural bi-directional conversation with crisp, clear speakerphone operation. SoundClear software is compatible with SC1000-family processor cores and subsystems such as mobile handsets, mobile conferencing devices, video conferencing equipment, and other hands-free telephony devices. As a StarCore Alliance member, Acoustic Technologies will provide SoundClear software to StarCore licensees. According to Gartner Dataquest's User Survey for Personal Wireless dated 24 Jun 2004, hands-free capability is the highest ranked new feature that motivates the purchase of a new mobile handset in the next 12 months. Integrated full-duplex speakerphone capability is a key component in next-generation 3G mobile phones to enable simultaneous access to voice and data for videoconferencing and hands-free operation. SoundClear software for cellular handsets offers full-duplex hands-free operation, noise reduction, and improved speech intelligibility with graphic equalizers, enabling natural conversation flow. StarCore's SC1000 family is licensable intellectual property that provides system-on-chip (SoC) designers with the combination of DSP performance and related subsystem capabilities.
