Fujitsu Selects Nuance Technologies to Power Japanese IVR
Nuance, a provider of software for a voice-driven world, announced that Fujitsu's new voice-driven Interactive Voice Response (IVR) product line, VoiceScript, is powered by Nuance 8.0 speech recognition technology.
Fujitsu, provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace, teamed with Japanese automation leader and Nuance partner, Omron, to develop and deliver VoiceScript to the Japanese market. VoiceScript enables enterprise and telecommunications carriers to deliver faster and more efficient phone-based services.
"Fujitsu is committed to providing our Japanese customers with the services they need, quickly and efficiently and we believe speech technology will allow us to provide innovative and high quality customer service," said Kazushige Haruta, director, CRM Solution Division, Fujitsu Limited. "Nuance has clearly proven itself with its speech software deployments for customers ranging from brokerage firms to airlines. With the most robust support for the Japanese language, and its large number of successful deployments in Asia, Nuance was the stand-out choice for fueling our new voice-driven system."
Fujitsu VoiceScript enables Japanese telecommunications carriers and enterprises to deliver valuable new services to their customers, as Japanese language transactions are not easily served by touchtone systems.
"Nuance recognizes that speech technology is a key enabler for enterprises wanting to reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction on a large scale," said Hideki Wachi, president, Nuance Japan. "The fact that Fujitsu, a global leader in computer and communications solutions, chose Nuance to power its voice-driven IVR product line underscores Nuance's international capabilities and multiple language support."
