Roxann Swanson of Nortel Named Frost & Sullivan's 2005 Enterprise Applications Executive of the Year
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Roxann Swanson, vice president and general manager, Multimedia Applications at Nortel, received the 2005 Enterprise Applications Executive of the Year Award from Frost and Sullivan at the Excellence in Information and Communications Technologies Awards Banquet.
The annual event honors companies and individuals for outstanding performance and achievements in the information and communications technologies markets. Swanson is being honored for her leadership in the enterprise applications industry.
As vice president and general manager of Multimedia Applications, Swanson has global responsibility for Nortel's Multimedia Applications business, which includes Nortel's Contact Center, Self-Service IVR and Advanced Speech Applications, Unified Messaging and Voice Mail, and Multimedia Application Server portfolios. She oversees research and development, product management, marketing, product delivery and professional services of these solutions.
"Few executives rival Swanson's expertise and knowledge of the different aspects of a successful telecommunications business," says Frost and Sullivan Industry Analyst Elka Popova. "Nortel's accomplishments in several enterprise application markets prove that Roxann brings great value to the company."
Swanson's priority has been to improve Nortel's applications business operations, image and customer relationships. She is credited with re-organizing the product organization to be customer-focused by integrating three separate product portfolios into a suite of multimedia application solutions.
She has also played an integral role in enabling Nortel's Multimedia Application group to be more agile in product development, more "engaged" with customers and more efficient in operations.
