Telelogue Teams With Nuance To Launch A Voice-Driven Directory Assistance Service Bureau
ORLANDO, FL - Telelogue Inc., a provider of voice-driven directory assistance, announced that it has teamed with Nuance (Nasdaq: NUAN), a developer of software for a voice-driven world, to launch Voice Directory, a wholesale directory assistance service bureau that automatically provides callers with business and government listings and offers them call completion. Telelogue is utilizing Nuance 7.0 speech recognition software and AT&T Natural Voices TTS software to power its application. The Voice Directory service provides automation for all of the 18.5 million business and government listings in the United States that are included in the white pages telephone directory. Typically around 80% of all directory assistance inquiries are for business and government listings. In a recent audit of the Telelogue service by The Paisley Group the service successfully recognized 86% of the valid requests. Another feature of the Telelogue Voice Directory is the ability of the service to hand the call over to a live operator. "Our automated service bureau is the only one in the directory assistance marketplace", remarked Robert W. Burke, Telelogue's CEO. "With this service Telelogue lowers the cost of directory assistance while requiring no capital outlays on the part of the service provider customer." "Nuance is committed to working with innovative companies such as Telelogue to realize the business benefits of voice-driven applications" said Ron Croen, President and CEO of Nuance. "Telelogue's solution is an innovative application of speech recognition technology and will help service providers reduce costs, drive revenue and improve customer satisfaction."
