TEMIC Announces Opening of US Office in Farmington Hills, MI
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI - Temic SDS, the developer of voice control systems in the automotive industry, announces the opening of its US office in the Detroit area in Farmington Hills, Michigan. It is Temic's declared goal to be close to its customers in the United States and to show a clear commitment and focus to the US market. From now on, customers will benefit from a direct access to Temic's speech processing experts. This expansion will further strengthen and intensify the partnership and co-operation with Temic's current and future US customers. Gerhard Nuessle, Temic's CEO, says: "We are well aware that the US market is the home of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, as a consequence we want to be where they are. We further have realized an increasing interest in our products outside the European market. Thanks to our unparalleled experience and core competences, we are very confident that our speech innovations add value to our new customers in the US market." Temic SDS offers services and products along the speech application value chain. This includes speech processing technologies (acoustics, speech recognition, text-to-speech), dialog design services and system integration know-how. Temic's system integration know-how has been shown in the projects that have already been realized with customers such as DaimlerChrysler ("Linguatronic"), BMW, Audi ("Speech Dialog System"), Fiat, Lancia, Land Rover and others. An additional benefit arises from the close spatial and technical co-operation with Temic's mother company Harman/Becker Automotive Systems. "This will help us to provide the optimal total solution to our US OEM customers", Nuessle says. Furthermore, Temic SDS has integrated its technology into the platforms of other 1st tier suppliers such as Siemens VDO, Bosch and Magneti Marelli. The opening of Temic's US office has been accompanied by demonstrations of Temic's latest automotive product live in the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class at Convergence 2002 in Detroit and on New York's Times Square at SpeechTEK 2002. "We are proud to contribute to the safety and comfort of our customer's vehicles", as Walter Koch, Temic's new sales manager in the USA, underlined during SpeechTEK.
