Tegic and ScanSoft Partner

SEATTLE and BURLINGTON, Mass. - Tegic Communications has signed an agreement with ScanSoft, Inc. to license its speech and handwriting technologies for use on cell phones and mobile devices.

Building on the role of Tegic's T9 Text Input software for numeric text input and leveraging ScanSoft's speech and handwriting solutions, Tegic provides the mobile industry a combined mobile communications solution.

Tegic integrates a variety of text entry options, including keypad, touch screen, speech recognition and handwriting recognition.

This new user interface, the T9 Mobile Suite, is projected to be available to mobile handset manufacturers in early 2006.
