Microsoft Adds GPT to Nuance DAX Medical Dictation App

Nuance Communications' Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express clinical documentation application has added conversational and ambient artificial intelligence with OpenAI's GPT-4.

Extending the Dragon Medical portfolio and the DAX ambient solution launched in 2020, DAX Express has now been enhanced by GPT-4 and amplified by Microsoft Azure.

DAX Express uses a unique combination of conversational, ambient, and generative AI to automatically create draft clinical notes in seconds for immediate clinical review and completion after each patient visit in the exam room or via telehealth patient conversations.

Additionally, Dragon Medical One, DAX, and DAX Express are tightly integrated into the electronic medical record, beginning from pre-visit through post-encounter.

Nuance's solutions are a part of the Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare and amplified by the cloud infrastructure of Azure.
