Buddy.ai Brings Its Voice-Based Games to Latin America

Buddy.ai has brought Buddy, a virtual English tutor with voice-based artificial intelligence for kids, to Latin America with a new version of the app for Spanish-speaking kids.

Buddy.ai leverages voice-based AI and game-based learning in a mobile app that allows kids aged 4 to 10 to communicate and play with a charismatic AI-powered cartoon character, Buddy the robot. Buddy communicates and plays with little pupils helping them build vocabulary and master listening and speaking skills. Playing the games, called missions, kids recall just-learned words and phrases in different contexts.

The company piloted Buddy in Mexico and Chile. After three months of beta-testing, the revenue generated by subscriptions to the app in Latin America made up 25 percent of the company's global revenue. After seeing the impressive results, the company decided to launch the app all over Spanish-speaking Latin America.
