Amazon is Making Alexa Smarter with an AI Chip

According to The Information, Amazon may be looking to make Alexa even smarter with the help of an AI chip. What’s more is that the company is reportedly designing the chip itself, with an aim toward improving Alexa’s ability to answer your questions quickly.

Tech Crunch says an AI chip for “Echo would probably be geared toward inference, taking inbound information (like speech) and executing a ton of calculations really, really quickly to make sense of the incoming information.” We know user expectations are growing ever more demanding, and they are less and less willing to wait for the answers to their questions. Which explains why Tech Crunch reports there are already a number of start-ups working on developing AI to tackle the speed problem.
