Avreo Adds Nuance Dictation

Avreo, a developer of radiology workflow solutions, has added Nuance Communications' speech recognition technologies to the Avreo Cloud VR as an optional component of its interWORKS RIS/PACS version 7.9 release.

With this technology, radiologists can create interpretations using cloud-based speech technology from any location where they use interWORKS. Once a radiologist enables his Avreo Cloud VR subscription, the single sign-on technology automatically activates within interWORKS and the radiologist can start using voice recognition immediately.

"Avreo Cloud VR has enabled our customers to utilize a leading-edge voice recognition system without adding additional servers or installing software on every workstation where the radiologist accesses interWORKS," said Jonah Still, chief technology officer at Avreo, in a statement. "With further integration to the Nuance PowerMic and Philips SpeechMike microphones, radiologists truly can work anywhere to view diagnostic images and render a diagnosis within seconds to minutes."
