Nuance Releases Dragon Anywhere for Android
Nuance Communications today launched Dragon Anywhere for Android, bringing the Dragon speech recognition engine to Android smartphones and tablets.
Dragon Anywhere offers continuous dictation, robust voice formatting and editing, and customization features that can be synchronized across devices. With it, field workers, lawyers, social workers, public safety officers, and other professionals can use their voices to create and edit complete reports and documents, capture detailed notes, and more, while on the go or in the field. Dragon Anywhere continuous dictation capabilities run in the cloud, allowing documents to be created without a time or length limit on dictation. Once a document is complete, it can be shared by email, via cloud-sharing tools like Dropbox, saved to note-taking apps like Evernote, or shared with virtually any app via the clipboard.
Dragon Anywhere offers a seamless cross-device experience with PCs and Macs by integrating with the new Dragon Professional Individual and Dragon for Mac desktop products. Key customization features, like auto-texts and custom words that are created with Dragon Anywhere, can be automatically synchronized with Dragon Professional Individual and Dragon for Mac, and vice versa. Like the Dragon desktop products, Dragon Anywhere improves its accuracy over time as it learns a person's unique voice. Because Dragon Anywhere is a cloud-based solution, it can be accessed from multiple mobile devices with a single subscription.
"We designed Dragon Anywhere for today's professionals who spend more of their time in the field or traveling but are still tasked with documentation demands that lengthen the work day and cut into other important tasks," said Peter Mahoney, senior vice president and general manager of Dragon, in a statement. "With Dragon Anywhere, professionals can complete, edit, and share important documents and reports in the moment, simplifying the paperwork process, saving time, and improving productivity."
Dragon Anywhere is available as a subscription service in U.S. English on the Nuance online store, with multiple subscription options, including a one-week free trial and subscriptions starting at $15 per month to $150 per year.
Once Dragon Anywhere is purchased through the Nuance online store, the app can be downloaded in Google Play. Dragon Anywhere requires Android 4.4 and greater.
Dragon Anywhere will be available in U.K. English and German later this year. Availability for iOS smartphones and tablets will be coming soon.
