VoiceBox to Provide Subaru with Contextual Language Understanding Interface
VoiceBox Technologies has been named Subaru's embedded voice technology provider for its in-dash upgradeable head unit. Working with Fujitsu Ten, VoiceBox has voice-enabled onboard applications and connected mobile services in eight Subaru models currently available across North America, Europe, Australia, and China.
VoiceBox Technologies and Fujitsu Ten have collaboratively integrated a customized, connected services solution for Subaru Starlink. Key service providers such as Aha and Pandora, along with contextual natural language understanding technology from Voice Box Technologies, have come together to create a seamless context-aware platform for both the mobile device and head unit.
"We are pleased that Subaru chose VoiceBox's contextual natural language speech recognition platform for an advanced in-car and connected experience," said Mike Kennewick, CEO, VoiceBox, in a statement. "As a key ingredient in Fujitsu Ten's expertly integrated head unit, we are proud to deliver a tailored voice solution leveraging our global team of audio engineers and speech scientists. Together, we've supported Subaru in reaching a major milestone in differentiation."
"VoiceBox enables us to deliver a seamless natural language voice experience for critical embedded car features and one of the most popular mobile apps in car multimedia," said corporate senior vice president Hiroyuki Asada, Fujitsu Ten, in a statement. "We are pleased to be working with VoiceBox to help us deliver the natural voice capabilities and safety measures Subaru owners want."
