Yonomi Integrates with Apple Watch
Yonomi, providers of a free app that connects smart home devices and gets them to work together, is now integrated with Apple Watch, allowing users to run their favorite Yonomi smart home Routines with a simple tap on their smartwatches.
"Yonomi listens to our users' feedback as we prioritize integrations with additional devices, and we're excited to support Apple Watch," said Kent Dickson, co-founder and CEO of Yonomi, in a statement. "This integration gives millions of consumers another option for how to control their smart home, right from their wrists."
Yonomi integrates with more than 60 smart home devices, including Amazon Echo, Sonos, Logitech Harmony Hub, Honeywell WiFi Thermostats, LIFX bulbs, and more. Consumers can set up Yonomi Routines involving multiple smart home products. For example, a "Watch TV" Routine could turn on the TV, pause the music on Sonos devices, and adjust the lights. A "Bedtime" Routine could lock doors, turn off the TV, turn off the lights, and play white noise on Sonos. Yonomi Routines can be triggered automatically by time, location, or other events, by voice through Amazon Echo, manually through a tap on iPhone or Android smartphones, iPads, iPod touch devices, and now through wearables like Apple Watch.
Yonomi's integration with Apple Watch is the latest in a series of product integrations. Last week, Yonomi released several new features in its latest version for iOS to fully take advantage of iOS 10. Users can tap the Yonomi Favorites widget right from the lock screen or by 3D touching the Yonomi icon on the home screen or in Siri App Suggestions. Yonomi iOS users can also now choose from more than 25 accents for text-to-speech announcements on Sonos.
The company recently announced its integration with Honeywell WiFi Thermostats, including the new Honeywell Lyric T series thermostat, and expanded its partnership with Amazon beyond the U.S. to provide a native Yonomi skill for Amazon Alexa in the U.K. A Yonomi skill for Alexa in Germany and Austria will be available when Amazon begins shipping Echo devices in those regions.
