Wizzard Software to Acquire Interim Health Care of Wyoming
PITTSBURGH - Wizzard Software has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire the assets of Interim Health Care of Wyoming, a home health care franchise agency, for its MedivoxRx Technologies subsidiary. Based in Casper, Wyo., Interim Health Care of Wyoming (Interim) is part of the home health segment of the healthcare industry and provides a range of visiting nurse services to the elderly, wounded and sick.
In April 2003, Brenda Mosher, Interim's owner, was selected as the Wyoming Small Business Person of the Year. "I am thrilled to be joining the professionals at Wizzard and I see a great opportunity in merging speech technology with the home health care industry," says Mosher.
Wizzard plans to acquire up to 12 home health care agencies (HHAs) for its MedivoxRx Technologies' subsidiary. Management's plan to place the acquisition targets in its MedivoxRx Technologies subsidiary is strategic in its desire to remain focused on its core speech technology business while at the same time continuing on its plan to benefit from increased profits in products/industries where speech can have the most profound impact.
By acquiring up to twelve of these HHAs, Wizzard's plans call for: economies of scale; increasing productivity by adding speech technology to forms and other processes; increasing revenues by offering off-the-shelf speech based products such as talking blood pressure monitors, talking medication reminders, talking insulin reminders, etc.; adopting "talking" tele-health as a means to increase patient visits without increasing staff; and using these acquisitions as a platform for building customized home health care speech technology systems which can then be sold to the other 7,000 HHAs in the U.S.
