West Acquires Smoothstone IP Communications

West yesterday acquired Smoothstone IP Communications, a provider of cloud-based communications solutions for the enterprise, for approximately $120 million. The deal adds to West's expanding unified communications business.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Smoothstone will become a part of West’s Unified Communications operating segment. Smoothstone will continue to offer its full portfolio of applications and services, which exist in the cloud and are delivered through a software-as-a-service model.
