Voiceware to Provide Voice Prompts for Lycos Asia's World Cup

Seoul, Korea - Voiceware Co. Ltd. announced that they have supplied the Text-to-Speech, VoiceText to Lycos Asia for its World Cup Live Update SMS Service. Lycos Asia World Cup Live Update SMS Service provides subscribers with Goal by Goal Report, Penalty Scored or Missed, Red Card, Yellow Card, Substitutions and Match Status through SMS. To subscribe, users need to call 1900-912-2767 and follow the voice prompts to register for the match they want to get SMS alerts for. They are charged SGD $5 per match. Users need to be a subscriber to a Singapore mobile network provider (either Singtel, M1 or Starhub) and own a phone which can send and receive SMS. The IVR Service will be available from May 31 to June 30, 2002. Users can call in at any time to book the matches they want SMS updates for current or advance booking of matches based on FIFA match numbers. The IVR system is provided by Vasic Pte., Ltd. and live SMS Feed is provided by AFP (Agence France-Presse). JongKwan Baek, Voiceware's CEO states, "we are seeking closer tie with larger contents providers such as Lycos Asia to build and create markets where speech technology can play an important role, particularly in Asia."
