VoiceGenie Appoints Gold Europe Value-Added Reseller in UK
TORONTO, CANADA and CARDIFF, ENGLAND - VoiceGenie Technologies Inc., a VoiceXML platform and speech solutions provider, announced the appointment of Cardiff-based Gold Europe Ltd., a voice applications company, as a new value-added reseller for the UK market. VoiceGenie considers the partnership with Gold Europe an important step toward a customer-focused expansion in Europe. "With the demand for voice-enabled solutions increasing tremendously in many areas of the world, including Europe, we are extremely pleased about the partnership with Gold Europe," said Bruce Eidsvik, vice president of Worldwide Sales at VoiceGenie. "By combining our expertise, we will further evolve the development of open-standards customer service applications in the UK." VoiceGenie's VoiceXML speech platform, a Linux-based solution, allows enterprises and telecom carriers to develop and deploy IVR applications, speech-enabled services and voice portals. Engineered within an open standards-based architecture, it provides for scalability, flexibility, performance and reliability with simultaneous support for a number of speech recognition and text-to-speech engines. To supplement their custom business, Gold Europe Ltd. considers the introduction of a standards-based platform running VoiceXML as being vital to the development of packaged applications. "We are very excited about the new opportunities that arise out of our partnership with VoiceGenie. So far, the recycling process of developed voice applications has been extremely difficult due to the proprietary character of the systems they needed to run," said Ron Griffith, managing director of Gold Europe. "Development has been very much on a bespoke basis, making the required level of investment exceedingly high. The introduction of an open standards-based software, running on Linux or NT platforms, means a dramatic cost reduction as the cost of development is not 'locked in' and no longer needs to be borne by one specific customer only."
