Voice Assist Launches Free Hands-Free App for Android

Voice Assist, a provider of mobile speech and hands-free solutions, has released its new application for the Android operating system.

Voice Assist for Android provides a safe driving application that lets drivers use voice commands to call, email, text, and post to social networks like Twitter and Facebook. No typing required.

The user interface was optimized for productive safe driving with the ability to issue command after command without the need to hold the phone or press buttons repeatedly.

"While you can use the Voice Assist service from any phone, our new Android app makes the service even easier to use by integrating with the Android address book and providing one-tap access," said Michael Metcalf, CEO of Voice Assist, in a statement. "There is no reason why someone should be looking at their phone while driving."

New customers who subscribe through the app can use Voice Assist for free, through a new ad-supported plan. Other paid versions of the service with premium features and no advertising are available through the Web site. The premium features currently include unlimited calling and Live Assist - a live 24 hour concierge service.

"Drivers in the 21st century want to stay connected and communicate by voice or data even while driving," Metcalf said. "Voice Assist makes it possible to do both but helps drivers keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road and not their Android phone."
