Vocollect Continues Expansion into Asia
Vocollect, a provider of voice solutions for mobile workers, today announced the establishment of an office in Hong Kong and the hiring of Vance Lau as managing director for the territory. Lau will be based in Hong Kong. Under Lau’s leadership, the Hong Kong office will manage Vocollect business in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. Japan and South Korea operations will continue to be managed from Vocollect’s Tokyo office.
Lau’s career spans 20 years in the information technology industry, with more than half of it in supply chain provider companies. Prior to joining Vocollect, he was general manager, Hong Kong and Taiwan, in the Business Objects Unit of SAP HK Limited. He also has held business development leadership roles with Cognos HK Limited (general manager, North Asia); J.D. Edwards Limited (director, Hong Kong sales operations); and PeopleSoft Asia Pacific Limited (regional sales manager, Asia, based in Singapore).

Through its Hong Kong office, Lau plans to market and sell the Vocollect solutions that have realized significant growth and acceptance across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. “Vocollect offers a unique and powerful solution to benefit distribution and logistics operations across China, East Asia, and South Asia," Lau said. "In concert with its extensive certified global partner network, Vocollect has worked successfully in Australia for a number of years, and we have established an office in Japan, managing Vocollect business in Japan and South Korea, which is growing steadily. The Hong Kong operation represents the next critical step in the company’s continuing global growth efforts."
