V-ENABLE Names Emerick Woods as CEO
V-ENABLE, a provider of mobile voice search technology, appointed Emerick Woods as CEO. Woods will be responsible for leading V-ENABLE's vision, future capital expansion options, and strategic relationships.
Woods was most recently president and chief executive officer of Aligo, a venture-backed company that was acquired in 2007, where he was in charge of executing the vision on aggressive growth and market leadership strategies, as well as managing all daily corporate operations.
Previously, Woods successfully raised over $140 million and completed the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Vicinity Corporation, where he served as president and CEO. While there, he was instrumental in increasing annual sales from $1 million to nearly $20 million in less than three years. Woods executed the turnaround strategy that refocused Vicinity from a content-syndication company to a provider of enterprise-class location-based services, before it got acquired by Microsoft.
Prior to Vicinity, Woods held a variety of executive and general management positions at Coherity, CastBridge, TuneUp.com, HP, Quarterdeck, Symantec, Central Point, and Microcom as well as consulting positions at McKinsey & Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Woods holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard University.
