U.S. Patent & Trademark Office Awards Patent to Volt Delta Resources

NEW YORK — Volt Delta Resources, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of  Volt Information Sciences, Inc. was awarded U.S. Patent No. 6,999,563  by the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

The patent includes the enhancement of Directory Assistance Automation by enabling a search of traditional Directory Assistance database listings using speech recognition grammars to determine the listing and locality to be used in the search, based upon the caller's responses to one or more automated prompts. The patent covers the use of the recognized locality and recognized listing request to access any database, thereby allowing the search of Directory Assistance databases rather than static grammar files.

Patent number 6,999,563 adds to the growing patent portfolio of VoltDelta, including Patent numbers 5,488,652, 5,644,680 , 5,987,408, 5,987,414, 5,995,929 which are all designed to improve DAA through automation techniques.
