TrueCaller Launches AI Call Scanner

TrueCaller has introduced AI Call Scanner for distinguishing between real human voices and artificial intelligence-generated ones to help defend against scams using voice clones.

AI Call Scanner can identify AI voices in real time, while the user is on the call. It can be accessed via the "AI Call Scanner" button while on calls with the TrueCaller app. Users then tap "Start AI Detection," and TrueCaller briefly puts the call on hold, giving it a moment to analyze the voice without the user missing any part of the conversation. Once the analysis is complete, a message will pop up saying either "Human Detected" or "AI Voice Detected."

AI Call Scanner is part of the Truecaller Premium plan and comes with a free trial. For now, it's only available in the United States on Android devices but will become available for more countries soon.
