TotalSynch Develops ‘Speech Pathologist In-A-Box’ to Help Specialists
California startup, TotalSynch, is using its 13-claim twin patents to assist speech-language pathologists (SLP) and the speech-language impaired (SLI) community, through cutting edge vocalization capabilities.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US will run short of speech-language therapists over the next 5 years. It’s estimated that between 2010 and 2020, an additional 28,800 speech-language therapists will be required to facilitate demand.
Utilizing unique new technology, TotalSynch Speech-Language Therapy Assistant software seeks to deliver additional resources, tools and benefits both to speech-language therapists and their students.
At present, there are current technological limitations on how to achieve true context-based prosodic speech, through in audio vocalizations and visual demonstrations of anatomical speech apparatus: the lips, mandible, tongue and breathe motion.
TotalSynch Speech-Language Therapy Assistant Software is aiming to prove a game changer in the way vocalization is taught and developed, to shift the paradigm.
TotalSynch Speech-Language Therapy Assistant allows users to select tutorial examples of speech, and see how the same words or phrases can be spoken in varied contexts, so the variants of lip posture can be understood. A digital face (please see below) is displayed, seen in full view, true side view, and user selected perspective. The user can see the words or phrases being spoken and is able to change between real-time and slow-motion.
