Tim Hortons Launches Mobile App with Voice Capabilities
Casual dining restaurant chain Tim Hortons today launched the TimmyMe App for Windows 8 devices. The app features voice recognition software that allows users to launch the mobile barcode payment screen on their TimmyMe App simply by saying, "TimmyMe Pay."
With the adaptation of the TimmyMe App for the Windows platform, Tim Hortons guests can now scan-to-pay for their in-restaurant purchases on all four major mobile platforms, including BlackBerry10, iOS, Android, and now Windows.
The TimmyMe App also allows users to load and add value to their Tim Cards, find the nearest Tim Hortons restaurant, and view nutritional information on Tim Hortons products.
"At Tim Hortons, we remain committed to introducing new technology and services that offer our guests the best possible experience, each and every time they visit our restaurants," said David Clanachan, chief operating officer at Tim Hortons, in a statement. "We want all our guests to be able to enjoy the TimmyMe App, no matter what device they have, and by making our App Windows 8 compatible, we can do just that."
Guests can download the TimmyMe App on their Windows device and load their prepaid Tim Card to enable the voice-activated barcode payment technology. The TimmyMe App for Microsoft Windows is now available in the Windows Store.
