The Daily Camera Launches VoicePort
PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado launched VoicePort's speech recognition application, CircPort. With a daily circulation of 33,000, the E.W. Scripps newspaper selected the hosted version of the application which will handle routine circulation phone calls such as reporting delivery problems, placing vacation holds, and checking account status.
VoicePort has integrated CircPort with Daily Camera's PBS database. The newspaper will use the application to field overflow and after-hour phone calls. Additional phases of implementation will offer subscribers the opportunity to make payments to their account, sign up for easy pay, or start a new subscription.
"Self-service through speech will be an important addition to the Daily Camera's circulation department," said Kelly Hendershot, circulation manager at the Daily Camera. "The VoicePort solution will allow our subscribers to reach us whenever it is convenient to them, increasing customer satisfaction and retention."
