Syntellect Launches New Version of Flagship Product
PHOENIX, AZ - Syntellect Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enghouse Systems Limited (TSX:ESL), announced the release of version 4.1 of its flagship product Vista IMR (Interactive Media Response). Vista 4.1 builds on Vista 4.0, which offers the ability to dynamically run Java and VoiceXML applications concurrently on the same Vista platform. Highlights of 4.1 include improved support for speech recognition and text-to-speech applications, updated integration with Aspect's Contact Server, and administrative enhancements that make it easier for enterprises to manage their Vista solution. "We continue to be excited about Vista's ability to run Java and VoiceXML applications concurrently," said J.R. Sloan, Product Manager. "This means a single IVR platform can dynamically respond to callers with both VoiceXML and standard Vista Java applications launched according to DNIS. This benefits our customers by providing them a "bridge strategy" that enables them to introduce VoiceXML applications as it makes sense to do so but to retain and maximize their investment in their current Java applications and the Vista platform." As with all Java applications on the Vista platform, each browser instance executes in its own process space and each VoiceXML application definition may configure the browser independently. Vista 4.1 also offers updated VoiceXML options, including 2.0 DTMF grammar support and DTMF-only execution context. "With the initial release of our VoiceXML support, the specification regarding DTMF grammars was still evolving," said Sloan. "Vista 4.1 adds support for the final 2.0 versions of the DTMF grammars." Additionally, "Vista 4.1 will support a DTMF-only implementation. We recognize that not every contact center solution necessitates a speech component and we believe this is an important option for our customers who wish to develop VoiceXML applications that do not require speech." Also new is support for RealSpeak 3.5. Says Sloan, "We have updated our integration with ScanSoft RealSpeak to support their latest version3.5. This version includes improved male and female voices for U.S. English, as well as support for 18 other languages." Syntellect has also updated Vista's CTI integration with Aspect to support Aspect's Contact Server. Aspect has certified this integration in its labs. Vista 4.1 administrative enhancements include on-demand previewing and printing of reports, a file distribution system that runs as a Windows Service, and Vista Sweepa new utility that automates the cleanup of Vista-related log files and databases on a scheduled basis. Other Vista enhancements include: *JVM Security Context
*Standalone Report Viewer
*Windows XP support for CTI Desktop, VistaView, VistaGen, PPV
*Editor, and SPEED Editor
*Sybase ASA 8.0 and Crystal Reports 9.0 support
