Syntellect Helps Customers Streamline Development of Speech-Enabled Applications with VistaGen XML Edition

PHOENIX - Syntellect Inc., a division of Enghouse Systems Limited (TSX:ESL), announced the availability of VistaGenÒ XML Edition on Vista version 4.2, the latest release of its standards-based VoiceXML gateway and application platform. VistaGen XML Edition, powered by Audium's voice application software, is a powerful package for application development and management that helps customers realize the benefits of speech faster by streamlining the development of standards-based applications. "From surveys we know that enterprise decision makers put a premium on portable applications that leverage their IT investments. Syntellect showed the vision five years ago when it went to a pure Java environment," noted Mark Plakias, Partner, at the Zelos Group. "Now, with the integration of Audium's XML development tool into Vista, Syntellect challenges other incumbent platform vendors to provide third-party, portable applications generated in XML." Additional enhancements on Vista 4.2 include an updated Vista VoiceXML Browser, full support for the latest version of Speech Synthesis Markup Language, integration of the Aculab Prosody PCI-series telephony card, and an improved file distribution system.
