Speak Music Introduces Muse, a Hands-Free Alexa Device for the Car
Speak Music, the voice and artificial intelligence company behind the Melody personal music assistant, has launched Muse, a voice-enabled Amazon Alexa device for the car.
Muse is a small Bluetooth accessory that works with smartphones to enable access to Alexa and streaming audio entertainment. With built-in, hands-free wake word detection, users can simply say "Alexa" to activate the voice service and experience nearly all of Alexa's functionalities from behind the wheel. The product offers hands and eyes-free access to music artists, playlists, live radio, news, audiobooks, podcasts, and Alexa services such as timers, voice ordering, and more.
Muse also lets users control their smart home systems from their cars, so they can close the garage door and turn on the home security system as they drive off, and set the perfect temperature as they arrive, all with their voices. Users can also check the weather, stock quotes, and sports scores and manage their to-do lists while in their cars.
Muse can also connect to car stereo systems through Bluetooth, USB, or AUX inputs, taking advantage of the car's multimedia systems to advance songs with steering wheel controls and display "Now Playing Information" provided by Alexa, such as album art and weather images.
Muse also features Bluetooth calling through the car stereo, with HD voice and noise cancellation and enables hands-free calling.
"We are incredibly excited to bring Muse with Amazon Alexa to cars," said Zak Mandhro, co-founder and chief technology officer at Speak Music, in a statement. "The fusion of innovative hardware, voice technology, and artificial intelligence has enabled us to deliver the ultimate voice experience for the car, bringing entertainment, productivity, utility, and safety to the drive."
Muse will retail for $49.99.
