Somerfield Orders New Voxware Voice Software
THEALE, England -- Somerfield Stores, a leading retail supermarket chain in the United Kingdom, placed an order for a Voxware voice solution that will streamline the company's flow-through operations.
The order is part of an initiative that will further optimize Somerfield's logistics operations. Voxware's open, SOA-based software product, Voxware 3.0, will provide the required voice solution, which will operate on 380 wireless devices supplied by LXE.
"We are already experienced users of Voxware voice technology, which supports our picking operation," said Andy Monk, Somerfield’s distribution director. "This new project represents an opportunity to realize further cost benefits, and the Voxware product is the right vehicle for us to achieve our goals."
The flow-through solution will be deployed in four Somerfield distribution facilities, which are operated by Wincanton Logistics.
"Voxware is honoured by the trust Somerfield has placed in us," said Stephen Gerrard, Voxware’s vice president of international operations. "Somerfield has ambitious plans to leverage voice technology, and naturally Voxware is pleased they have once again chosen our leading edge software."
