Snap Said to Have Acquired Voca.ai

Snap, provider of the popular SnapChat app, has acquired voice assistant provider Voca.ai for $70 million.

Voca, an Iraeli startup, offers a voice assistant platform that is primarily used in contact centers.

Though Snap has not confirmed this, the company was said to have been interested in Voca's speech-to-intent technology as it looks to get into the ecommerce arena. Other speculation is that Snap will look to add Voca's speech technology to its Lens Studio and Snap Spectacles applications.
