SandCherry Promotes Brian Marquette to Chief Technology Officer

BOULDER, CO - SandCherry Inc., a communications software company, announced the appointment of Brian Marquette to the position of chief technology officer. Marquette was previously vice president of research and development and was one of the founding members of SandCherry's engineering team. In his new role, Marquette will be instrumental in leading the future design and development of SandCherry's SoftServer platform and establishing the direction of SandCherry's long-term strategic technology objectives. He will articulate the vision and direction for the overall solution, oversee the architecture group, and interact closely with the development team on technology issues. Marquette's commitment to maintaining SandCherry's leadership position in the communications industry will continue through participation in standards groups such as the Speech Application Language Tags Forum (SALT), the VoiceXML Forum, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). He has co-authored several of SandCherry's patents related to the core functionality of the SoftServer platform. Additionally, SandCherry's Intelligent Control Module architecture and Media Session Framework architecture were conceived under his leadership. With twelve plus years of development expertise, Marquette has led major innovative software developments for companies such as IBM, Lockheed Martin, and McDonnell Douglas. He has extensive experience in distributed computing software engineering. Most recently, he served at Interosa, an e-mail security startup, where he directed development of Java-based client/server communications software. Marquette earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Missouri and an MS in Computer Science from University of Houston-Clear Lake.
