SandCherry Announces VoiceXML Browser
BOULDER, CO - SandCherry Inc., a provider of multi-service broker software for applications and media resources, announced the immediate availability of AppRun VXML, an open, VoiceXML (VXML) 2.0 standard-based browser which can easily integrate with speech recognition and text-to-speech (TTS) elements from leading speech vendors. With a list price of only $80 per port, AppRun VXML offers enterprises and service providers an inexpensive component for realizing the benefits of VXML-based solutions without compromising performance or reliability. AppRun VXML delivers VXML service delivery on standard servers in conjunction with SandCherry's SoftServer software platform and existing Web and application server software and components. AppRun VXML allows for a quick and inexpensive service rollout that can be scaled to suit applications ranging from large carrier to small enterprise applications. "Lowering the cost of VXML solutions is critical for accelerating the broader adoption of speech-enabled applications," said Charles Corfield, SandCherry's president and CEO. "SandCherry's AppRun VXML is designed to overcome this problem, offering a much more cost-effective and open solution that doesn't lock the customer into a single vendor's speech components." SandCherry's AppRun VXML is a Java-based browser built on top of the Java Speech API (JSAPI) open standard, which ensures compatibility with any component or platform built to this standard. When used with the SoftServer platform, AppRun VXML interoperates with speech recognition and TTS components from leading vendors. It is currently available for the Windows and Solaris operating systems, and will be certified with Linux later this year.
