Sakrament Begins Testing English Speech Synthesis Module

Together with specialists from Minsk State Linguistic University, Sakrament has started testing and debugging the phonetic database of the English language module. Testing is carried out through listening to a selection of texts which include publications on a number of topics: news, technology, politics, science, medicine, etc. Using modern texts reflecting current English will make the synthesis system capable of producing natural-sounding speech with words and constructions used nowadays in English-speaking countries.

Sakrament offers the commercial version of ClearSpell, a topical dictionary which allows the individual to learn and listen to words structured into a number of topical sections. The English language module will be adapted for usage, not only on Windows computers, but also on Windows CE and Symbian platforms.
