SDC Announces Version 4 of IntelliSPEECH
System Development Company of New Hampshire, a supplier of intelligent PC-based consoles, speech recognition and enterprise directory solutions, announced version 4 of SDC's IntelliSPEECH call handling solution to provide speech-enabled directory and automated call processing.
IntelliSPEECH is part of SDC's Total Call Handling Solution - a modular, integrated suite of enterprise directory applications consisting of IntelliSPEECH, IntelliDESK PC-Based Operator Console, and Web-Services Online Enterprise Directory. Powered by speech application technologies from Newfound Communications and Vocalocity, IntelliSPEECH is a solution that provides a comprehensive telephone directory database accessible via the spoken word. Combined with a comprehensive suite of directory, paging and messaging applications, the Total Call Handling Solution from SDC provides value added services and call processing efficiencies for the calling public, employees, patients, staff, and physicians.
IntelliSPEECH provides callers with self-service, allowing them to simply speak the name of a person or department to connect their call, initiate a page, or access a portal of information. IntelliSPEECH eliminates 50-70 percent of the "routine" calls.
Driven by Newfound Communications Advanced Grammar Management Kit, Newfound's software provides SDC customers with enhanced, up-to-date grammars to handle speech recognition tasks. Vocalocity's VocalOS Voice Gateway is a VoiceXML 2.0 and Speech Application Language Tags (SALT 1.0) compliant interpreter. The Gateway provides the coordination of multiple resources including telephony, voice recognition, text-to-speech, audio, media caching, VoiceXML and SALT interpretation, billing integration and systems management. The Gateway has been specifically designed to manage a distributed network of these components. In addition, the Gateway seamlessly integrates disparate resources, allowing customers to use existing equipment, tie into existing legacy systems, and drive down costs by allowing customers to shop for components that best fit their needs.
