ReadSpeaker Now Supports SSML

ReadSpeaker now supports Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) in its speechCloud API and Production API products.

SSML is a standardized markup language for speech synthesis applications. With SSML, users can control how the text is read by the text-to-speech engine, specifically the prosody of the speech. When activated in a speechCloud API or Production API account, SSML can be used to insert pauses, breaks, and phonetic transcriptions and switch voices and languages in the same text. The speech can be fully customized.

For example, SSML is often used in embedded text-to-speech for telephony systems and in desktop applications.

SSML is also available in ReadSpeaker's speechMaker engine.
