Plum Voice Earns HIPAA Compliance
Plum Voice, a communications platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) provider, has achieved Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance for its cloud infrastructure and environment, meeting all of the requirements for compliance as a business associate.
Plum's Development Environment for Voice (DEV) communications platform enables companies to automate and optimize voice-based interactions and business processes with customers. Plum DEV drives interactive voice response (IVR), call routing, outbound messaging, and voice communication services.
Plum's platform can help medical professionals with the following:
- Clinical trials
- Delivering Test Results;
- Relaying medication information;
- Payment processing; and
- Patient Surveys.
Already compliant with the Service Organization Controls (SOC 2) and Payment Card Industry's DSS standards, the addition of HIPAA compliance adds a significant level of utility to Plum's platform.
"HIPAA compliance means that Plum can offer healthcare companies a flexible platform with robust features to meet their communication requirements. The need for effective, reliable communication between patients and healthcare providers has never been greater. Now Plum is in a position to help companies improve that aspect of the doctor/patient relationship," said Plum Vice President of Infrastructure Operations, Tom Faiano, in a statement.
