Phonetic Systems Announces 20+ Customers in Education Market
BEDFORD, MA - Phonetic Systems, the developer of voice-enabled large and dynamic directories, announced that the University of Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, the University of Kansas, and Salt Lake Community College have chosen PhoneticOperator to voice-enable their campus phone directories. Phonetic Systems will manage and dynamically update more than 157,000 records across the four universities. Depending on each university's needs and demands, the directories will be used to reach university staff, faculty and/or students and provide access to information. Phonetic Systems is now deployed in more than twenty universities nationwide. "With new students enrolling, leaving for co-ops or going abroad each semester, tracking all of the changes became an extremely time-consuming and costly process," said Stephen Pritchard, director of telecommunications services at Middle Tennessee State. "With its dynamic update capability, PhoneticOperator has enabled us to streamline our process, and continue to offer top-notch service to our students." "We have seen a great deal of success in the education market and are pleased to welcome these educational institutions to our customer base," said Mark Bannon, vice president sales and technical services at Phonetic Systems. "With today's economic climate, many organizations are looking for ways to cut costs across the board. Phonetic Systems will enable these universities to implement voice solutions that are cost-effective, easy to maintain and highly scalable to meet future needs." PhoneticOperator is a voice-driven information retrieval solution that scales to support millions of records in a single, flat database. This scalability accommodates highly active data changes to large directories while providing operator-class performance for information queries and call completion. Phonetic Systems currently supports more than 11,000,000 unique directory listings and over 225,000,000 calls per year across its live deployments.
