PhoneAnything Receives Accessibility Award

PhoneAnything has received the "Accessibility Award" in this year's New Statesman New Media Awards. The awards recognize those who have achieved something of benefit to others, whether in their community or in society at large. PhoneAnything's Web-over-Phone technology offers voice access to Web pages and PDFs through conventional telephones.

The key themes of this year's awards are "ingenuity, modernisation and accessibility". Since 1998, the awards have promoted projects that embrace new technology, fresh thinking and creative management in the UK.

PhoneAnything was recognised by the judges as the winner in the accessibility category from a shortlist including BrowseAloud and ReadSpeaker.

"Society has always been promised a great deal by the digital revolution," says John Kampfner, editor of the New Statesman. "The 2005 New Media Awards highlight the projects that have really delivered on that promise."

PhoneAnything's recent client list includes the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB), Disability Rights Commission (DRC), Department for Culture, Media and Sport, British Council, Insolvency Service, Adult Dyslexia Organisation, YourLocalCinema.com, American Council of the Blind, and Ethical Media.
