Philips and GST Sign Distribution Agreement

VIENNA, AUSTRIA and TRENTO, ITALY - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE:PHG) and Gruppo Soluzioni Tecnologiche (GST) an AISoftw@are Group company (AISW) have signed an agreement for the distribution of Philips' speech recognition technology SpeechMagic in the Italian Radiology market.

 

 "SpeechMagic is the leading speech recognition technology for Radiologists in Europe in many countries," said Alessandro Tescari, managing director of GST. "It offers unique features for professional users that will enable us to deliver innovative and even higher performance products to our customers and partners. Thus, we will further strengthen our leadership in the Radiology market."

 

Over the next five years, GST and its reseller network will act as the exclusive provider of SpeechMagic in the Italian Radiology market.

 

 "GST has captured 80 percent of the speech processing market in Italian radiology and more than 250 hospitals are among its clients," said Marcel Wassink, managing director of Philips Speech Recognition Systems. "The company's speech processing applications interface with all major Radiology systems, like those from Siemens, AGFA, Fuji, Kodak, GE and Philips Medical Systems. This partnership guarantees a fast break-through for SpeechMagic in Italy."
