Panasonic Launches Voice-Based Trunk Open/Close Feature

Article Featured Image

Panasonic Automotive has released a hands-free trunk open/close feature powered by Sensory’s TrulyHandsFree technology.

Panasonic Automotive's solution, named S.P.O.C., allows users to simply walk up to their vehicles and verbally command the tailgates, trunks, or doors to open or close. This is achieved through a combination of key fob detection, exterior microphones, and Sensory's TrulyHandsfree technology.

S.P.O.C. can understand multiple languages and commands from up to 2 meters away. Its low power consumption ensures minimal impact on vehicle batteries.

To address security concerns, S.P.O.C. uses the key fob for authentication. Additionally, there's potential for further security enhancements, such as voice biometrics, which could allow for individualized voice commands.
